6 May 2025 – SUSTRACK 2nd mobilisation and mutual learning workshop “Projects4Future”

On 6 May 2025 the SUSTRACK project, in collaboration with the European Bioeconomy Network (EuBioNet), hosted “Projects4Future – Shaping Tomorrow: Horizon Europe Projects Driving the Circular Bio-based Transition”.

This Mobilisation and Mutual Learning (MML) workshop brought together 50+ participants and 19+ leading Horizon Europe projects focused on Standardisation, Certification, Labelling, and Monitoring to exchange knowledge, share lessons learned, and consolidate policy recommendations that will shape the future of the circular bio-based economy.
Specifically, the workshop identified key outcomes, tools, resources, and policy recommendations that support the transition to a circular bio-based economy. The consolidated results has been presented at the BIOBASEDCERT cluster final conference on 13 May in Brussels, engaging policymakers from different DGs and key stakeholders.

EuBioNet members involved: SUSTRACK, STAR4BBS, SUSTCERT4BIOBASED, HARMONITOR CheMatSustain, 3-CO, BIOTRANSFORM, ShapingBio, BEAMING, CALIMERO, MainstreamBIO, BioINSouth.

10 April 2025 – GenB and BioBeo final event “Bridging Generations: Education and Policy to Shape a Sustainable Future”

A resounding success for the final event of GenB and BioBeo projects, “Bridging Generations: Education and Policy to Shape a Sustainable Future”, held in Brussels! The event brought together diverse voices across generations, disciplines, and sectors to co-create a more sustainable future through bioeconomy education.

Several Horizon Europe projects (GenB, BioBeo, BioGov.net, SLEs, CLEVERFOOD, LOESS and ProBleu) contributed in the first panel, dedicated to “Education as a main driver of the circular and sustainable transition towards the future Bioeconomy Strategy”, setting the scene for an engaging and forward-looking conversation on the transformative role of education.

In the second panel, focused on “Recommendations to shape future circular and sustainable bioeconomy education”, a dynamic and participatory session that gave space to intergenerational dialogue. Three GenB Ambassadors shared their personal experiences and insights, engaging in a constructive exchange with policy makers from the European Commission (DG RTD and DG AGRI) and the CBE JU. Their dialogue highlighted how youth perspectives and lived experiences can enrich and influence policy-making in bioeconomy education.

The event also featured the vibrant “Education in Action” experiential exhibition, where tools and materials developed by GenB, BioBeo, BioGov.net, and other EU projects were showcased. These resources illustrated innovative approaches to engaging citizens and youth in sustainability, making science and systems thinking accessible through games, storytelling, and interactive media. Among the highlights of the exhibition was also the presentation of the children’s book “Our Blue Treasure”, developed in the context of the BlueMissionMed project.
